GTA 6 System Requirements: PC Specs & Hardware Predictions

Everything we know about GTA 6 PC system requirements, including predicted minimum and recommended specs based on GTA V and current-generation hardware standards.

Will GTA 6 come to PC?

Rockstar has only confirmed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for the November 19, 2026 launch. However, every mainline GTA game has eventually received a PC release — GTA V launched on PC 19 months after consoles. Based on this pattern, a GTA 6 PC release is expected in late 2027 or early 2028.

Predicted Minimum PC Requirements

While Rockstar has not announced official PC specs, we can make educated predictions based on the game's current-generation console target, the REDengine / RAGE engine evolution, and the hardware baseline of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S:

These specs would allow the game to run at 1080p on medium settings at 30 FPS, matching the baseline console experience.

Predicted Recommended PC Requirements

This tier would target 1440p at 60 FPS on high settings, with ray tracing potentially available as an optional toggle.

Predicted 4K Ultra PC Requirements

For 4K resolution at 60 FPS with ray tracing enabled, expect to need top-tier current-generation hardware.

Why SSD Will Be Required

GTA 6's streaming world is significantly larger than GTA V's, with seamless transitions between dense urban environments, rural counties, and open water. Traditional hard drives simply cannot stream textures and geometry fast enough to keep up with high-speed travel across a map of this scale. An SSD will almost certainly be a hard requirement, not a recommendation.

Ray Tracing and DLSR Support

Given that GTA 6 targets current-generation consoles that support ray tracing, the PC version will likely include ray-traced reflections, shadows, and possibly global illumination. NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR support are also expected, allowing players to achieve higher frame rates without sacrificing visual quality.

How GTA 6 Compares to GTA V PC Requirements

GTA V launched on PC in 2015 with modest requirements — a GTX 660 and 4 GB of RAM could run it. GTA 6 is a generational leap forward, targeting hardware that did not exist when GTA V was released. Expect requirements roughly 4-5x higher than GTA V's recommended specs.

Storage Space Prediction

With Leonida being the largest map in Rockstar's history, featuring high-resolution textures, dense urban geometry, and extensive voice acting, expect the install size to be substantial. Our prediction is 100-150 GB, consistent with other current-generation open-world titles.

Summary

Official PC specs for GTA 6 will not be announced until Rockstar confirms the PC release date, likely sometime in 2027. Until then, these predictions are based on the game's console target hardware and industry trends. If you are planning a PC build for GTA 6, targeting the recommended tier above should give you a solid experience when the PC version arrives.
